Learning from mistakes

I tried to make another home-cooked meal today. “Tried” being the operative word there. Argh. It was an epic fail. Epic. Fail.
Ok, so maybe that was an exaggeration, but it didn’t taste good enough to eat instead of a few pieces of buttered bread. I tried to make a vegan meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Maybe that’s how meatloaf is supposed to taste (I’ve never eaten the animal version of the stuff), but I didn’t really care for this recipe. And the mashed potatoes were… gritty. Anyways, I tried it and now I can move on.
And my puppy will have some treats for the next few days.

I’ve never really cared for meatloaf, veg or otherwise. But it’s always sad when you put work into a meal and it turns out bad.

It really is. Before starting MoFo this year, I didn’t really cook a lot from scratch. I was pretty bummed for most of last night, but today’s a new day and I need to find another recipe to try!

We’ve had many fails in the kitchen, which always stink. Thankfully, my stepsons aren’t picky and will usually eat anything. I’m sure the next recipe you try will be good!

Thank you for saying that! I wish I was more like your stepsons. Being a picky eater just doesn’t go well with food experimentation! haha
